The Oathbreaker EP has been rereleased with a new cover (and of course the new logo). Those who previously downloaded the EP are advised to open up iTunes and crush the memory of the old cover with the power and might of the new cover using the following procedure:

• With a fierce battle cry, right-click on the new cover, select Copy.
• In iTunes, select all the Oathbreaker EP tracks, right-click, and select Get Info. Raise thy fist into the air.
• In the square Artwork box, right-click and select Paste. Hit OK. Blast the Oathbreaker EP at full volume.
• Drink an ale in victory.

Users of other programs are advised to follow their manufacturer’s instructions for crushing the memory of former album covers, but the final step listed above still applies. The new Oathbreaker cover is being disseminated across the land and to all the digital music services as we speak. We expect full domination of the new cover within a month.

We will be announcing more details about the forthcoming full-length album in the upcoming months. The Studio Diary shall continue very soon, as well. Finally, we have several shows in Maryland booked, as you can see towards the top right of the new BurningShadows.com. We expect you all to be in attendance. Until then, farewell!

• PaganFest America II – May 5, 2009

Part of the new burningshadows.com‘s mission is to chronicle the extensive and epic history of the band. In accordance with this, the band’s entire list of shows since the band first took to the stage in 2002 has been added to the site. Show information migrated from the previous website (late 2007 – autumn 2009) is largely unformatted. Show information from the original website is somewhat easier to read. For most shows, a set list has been included.

Some highlights & notes:

• The first show at Jaxx (June 16, 2002) was the only time “Evenfall” has ever been performed live.
• The earliest known video of Burning Shadows is from the January 24, 2003 show at ThunderDome.
• Then-bassist/vocalist Brian forgot his bass for the May 28, 2003 show at The Depot in Baltimore. It was the first bassless show Burning Shadows played.
• After Brian left Burning Shadows, the last three shows of 2003 were played with Greg on vocals and no bass. Burning Shadows also played several Opeth songs at these shows with Tim on vocals.
• On December 23, 2004, Burning Shadows covered “Cowboys From Hell” as a tribute to Dimebag Darrell. It has not been performed live since.
• Burning Shadows performed “The Human in Me” with new lyrics, retitled “Marching to Victory” twice in 2005. Neither version of the song has been performed since.
• The June 30, 2005 Harrisonburg, VA show and the July 23, 2005 Peterborough, ON shows were originally part of a self-booked nationwide tour. The tour was ultimately canceled for a variety of reasons, but these two shows were retained.
• On November 4, 2006, Burning Shadows played 2 shows. The second show was the second round of a battle of the bands at (now-defunct) The Firehouse in Gaithersburg, MD. Burning Shadows won the first round on October 29, 2006.
• Since 2002, Burning Shadows has covered Iced Earth, Metallica, Slayer, Blind Guardian, Pantera, Dream Theater, Blind Guardian, Megadeth, A. C., Opeth, Death, HammerFall, Super Mario Brothers, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Dimmu Borgir, and of course Manowar on stage.
• As of December 2, 2009, Burning Shadows has played over 60 shows, averaging about 1 show every 6 weeks.
