The time has finally come to reveal some of the details of what we have been hard at work on since our last public appearance.

As many of you know, we have recently brought new lead vocalist Tom Davy into the ranks of Burning Shadows. Earlier this year we decided to “pull an Iced Earth” by simultaneously recording one brand new song and re-releasing some older material with Tom’s vocals. The result is the Oathbreaker EP.

We will be releasing this disc in September on CD as well as in mp3 format through the website. The mp3 format version will be sold at an extremely fantastic price (free). The CD artwork will be done by our longtime artist, Andraes Johansson.

The complete tracklisting will be revealed upon the release of the CD. Obviously, “Whisper Suffering” will be on the disc, since it’s been available to preview on burningshadows.com for several months now. The new song “Oathbreaker” may be familiar to those who have seen us play recently. However, we have made some improvements to the song since the last time we played it live. Without a doubt, “Oathbreaker” is one of the tightest, fastest, and most aggressive tracks we have ever recorded.

By this point, you’re no doubt wondering how we recorded a new song without a drummer. Simple: we recruited former DragonHeart (the band that became DragonForce) drummer Peter Hunt to lay down the drums for us. Working with Pete has been a great experience, despite the fact he lives literally half a world away from us. We raise our horns to him!
